What's the Precision Edit tool?

Activating the Precision Edit tool

You can access the Precision Edit tool by:
Double-clicking the Edit tool

What does the Precision Edit tool do?

If you cannot select an object, such as an image or text, with the Edit tool (Command+2) you can try to select it with the Precision Edit tool.

The Precision Edit tool is made to select unselectable line art, such as underlines and other line drawings and graphical backgrounds. If you use the Select Rectangle and Erase an area, if there is anything left behind, the Precision Edit tool should be able to select and delete the remaining marks.

Select, move, resize, delete.

If you select an image, the Edit tool turns into the Precision Edit tool automatically to move it. This moves the image while maintaining that image on the same layer. This also maintains or reduces the size of the file.

If you try to make any edits other than move, resize or delete, then the image will revert to the previous method of moving images, converting them into an imprint, and the file size will grow.

(Applies to PDFpen 10 and later).
